An Overview of the 2005 Chevy Uplander

The 2005 Chevy Uplander replaced the Venture series in Chevrolet’s minivan lineup. The Uplander adapted the extended-length body of Chevy Venture but showcased a more attractive SUV-flavor. Chevrolet had to tweak its exterior appearance to make it look more like a sports utility vehicle. As compared to the Chevy Venture, the Uplander is slightly bigger in length, wheelbase and height. Although it retains the standard four-speed automatic transmission, Chevrolet decided to replace Venture’s old engine system —- the 185hp 3.5L V6 —- with the slightly powerful 200-hp 3.5L V6 engine.
